Yankalilla Hockey Club

Yankalilla Sports Complex
Main Road   Yankalilla
PO Box 261 Yankalilla SA 5203

Our Club’s History
Yankalilla played the inaugural game against Victor Harbor, in 1973, which was the beginnings of SCHA. In 1974 there were two teams of women and men sporting the colours black and gold and maroon and gold. Hence the start of our club colours of black and gold. There has always been a women and men’s team from Yankalilla and when a Junior division started in 1980, a junior team.
One of our Juniors, Naomi Weatherald, represented the State in Under 21 winning team in 2001.
After many playing venues – Yankalilla Area School and Wirrina Resort, Yankalilla has a home ground within the Yankalilla Memorial Sport Grounds.

Our Club’s Philosophy
We believe in providing an opportunity to all members of the community to be able to participate in an alternative sport in an enjoyable, safe environment. We try to keep our fees affordable with provisions for students and families.

Recent Club Developments
Yankalilla has been successful in achieving Community, Sport and Recreation Grants to enable further developments to be made to the grounds and club rooms. Recently power has been connected to the Club and grounds have security improvements.
The Club is always looking to expand its membership and to promote Junior participation.
In 2012 we saw our club’s growth by adding a second Men’s team.
In 2013 we have now got working toilets and a storage container connected to our shed.

In 2017 we have got two fields.
