SCHA Junior Hockey
The South Coast Hockey Association regularly conducts sporting clinics throughout the Fleurieu Peninsula.
Usually, these clinics are run in collaboration with a school program, either through After Hours School Care or as part of a PE program. The clinics offer game based activities that teach the skills of hockey. Coaches that run these sessions are accredited under the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme and all have current SA Police checks.
Games are structured to suit different age groups and skill levels so that all children involved are introduced to the sport of hockey in a safe and fun way. Sporting clinics may be offered at any one of the 4 SCHA grounds, or at a local sporting oval and all equipment is provided by the South Coast Hockey Association.
To book a clinic, please contact the Associations Junior Co-ordinator Christine Filsell, Ph: 0427 686 496.
The SCHA has been a regular participant of the South Australian Regional Junior Championships since they began in 2001 with the first RJC hosted by the Riverland Hockey Association and held in Berri.
Played annually over the October long weekend, the main objective is to promote the growth and development of hockey among our junior players within regional associations around our state.
South Coast hosted the Championships in 2009 at the Victor Harbor grounds and sent 6 teams to Port Lincoln for the 2013 competition which was hosted by the Port Lincoln Hockey Association. The 2014 SA RJC will be hosted by South Coast Hockey Association at Aldinga.
